Someday WE WILL KNOW

by Joseph S Bonsall

I just read a piece by a very inspiring writer and friend, Tiffany Truitt. You can find her writings at http://tiffanytruitt.blogspot.com

In her short but moving blog she writes about the heartbreak of a little girl in line for a transplant while some other person she knows killed himself.

I identified with this just recently as we buried our good friend Todd Brewer who lost a battle with cancer at 42 years old. He fought with all of his heart and soul. He so wanted to stay with his beloved wife and children but God saw it different for there he lay before us... in his coffin... in his favorite overalls while The US Navy folded his flag.

As I sat in that pew in the Hendersonville Memorial Gardens it hit me that just a month or so ago I sat in this same place saying goodbye to a friend named Stacy Briggs. Stacy was also 42 years old and was in perfect health on the afternoon that he decided to wrap an electric cord around his neck and jump off his back deck.

So easy to ask WHY... so easy to ponder a different course for BOTH young men... but as Christians we must take comfort in the fact that God is in control of our lives but as humans... well, to be honest... it can be quite bewildering. A viable test of our Faith to be certain.

I have no astounding ending to this little piece. I just want to provoke you into being thankful for that which God gives to us everyday.

The precious gift of LIFE! Celebrate and HONOR it! In the big picture and in the grand scheme of things we are not really here that long anyway so while you are celebrating be sure to lay aside some quality time for PREPARATION for the Journey that lies ahead of ALL of us.

One way or the other we will ALL take that mysterious trip when the very temporary body that we live in at the moment gives way to death and then VICTORY when we will live in the Light of the Lord and all things will be made clear to us. Why one is taken and one is not. Why a little girl has to wait for a heart and even why a friend ends his own life. We will understand it ALL better in the By and By. Make sure you are there!!

God Bless Friends, Joseph S. Bonsall
